Bihar is preparing to demand over ₹10,000 crore from the central government as compensation for extensive flood damage. The floods, which occurred in September and October, affected over 50 lakh people across 15 districts. Preliminary assessments indicate crop losses around ₹270 crore and significant damage to infrastructure like schools and roads, with restoration costs potentially exceeding ₹3,000 crore. The state has already disbursed ₹579 crore as immediate relief to affected families.

बिहार बाढ़ से हुए भारी नुकसान के मुआवजे के तौर पर केंद्र सरकार से ₹10,000 करोड़ से अधिक की मांग करने की तैयारी कर रहा है। सितंबर और अक्टूबर में आई बाढ़ ने 15 जिलों में 50 लाख से अधिक लोगों को प्रभावित किया था। शुरुआती अनुमानों के मुताबिक, फसलों को करीब ₹270 करोड़ का नुकसान हुआ है और स्कूलों व सड़कों जैसे बुनियादी ढांचे को भी काफी नुकसान पहुंचा है, जिसकी मरम्मत की लागत ₹3,000 करोड़ से अधिक हो सकती है। राज्य ने पहले ही प्रभावित परिवारों को तत्काल राहत के तौर पर ₹579 करोड़ वितरित कर दिए हैं।
