Wild Tusker Chakkakompan Moves to National Park After Passage Cleared

Wild tusker Chakkakompan has successfully moved to Mathikettan Shola National Park in Idukki, Keralam, through a newly cleared elephant passage. The Forest Department dismantled illegal fences obstructing traditional routes, following a directive from the Idukki District Collector. This action was prompted by the recent death of a farmer and allowed the tusker, confined for 18 months, to migrate. Authorities have identified three major obstructed elephant passages in the Chinnakkanal area. Clearing these natural corridors is seen as crucial for reducing human-wildlife conflict.

जंगली हाथी चक्ककोम्पन इडुक्की, केरलम के मथिकेतन शोला राष्ट्रीय उद्यान में एक नए साफ़ किए गए हाथी मार्ग से सफलतापूर्वक पहुँच गया है। वन विभाग ने इडुक्की जिला कलेक्टर के निर्देश के बाद पारंपरिक मार्गों में बाधा डालने वाली अवैध बाड़ें हटा दीं। यह कार्रवाई एक किसान की हालिया मौत के बाद की गई थी और इसने 18 महीने से फँसे हाथी को प्रवास करने की अनुमति दी। अधिकारियों ने चिन्नकनाल क्षेत्र में तीन प्रमुख अवरुद्ध हाथी मार्गों की पहचान की है। इन प्राकृतिक गलियारों को साफ़ करना मानव-वन्यजीव संघर्ष को कम करने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।
