The family of a Panjab University research scholar, Jyoti, who died on campus in July, has expressed dissatisfaction with the magisterial inquiry into her death. They claim they were not officially provided with the report and learned of its findings indirectly. The family questions the premature reinstatement of suspended officials and demands accountability for safety lapses. Chandigarh's deputy commissioner has forwarded the report to the university's vice-chancellor, instructing departmental proceedings and an electrical safety audit.
