Ahmedabad Records Over 500 Dengue Cases in October Alone

Times of India · health

Ahmedabad has reported a significant surge in dengue cases, with 513 infections recorded in October alone. This brings the total for the year to 1,857, surpassing the entire count from 2025. Health officials attribute the continued breeding of mosquitoes to warm days and cool nights, leading to stagnant water in coolers and air conditioners. Precautionary measures are being implemented, including sealing breeding sites and public advisories. Other vector-borne diseases like malaria and chikungunya, as well as water-borne illnesses, have also seen reported cases.
