The Hindu - Business · business
Contrary to fears of job losses, automation has enabled ABB India to significantly increase its workforce and hire lower-skilled workers, training them for complex tasks. CEO Sanjeev Sharma stated that automation has reduced the need for highly skilled labour, allowing younger individuals with less prior experience to be quickly trained. The company saw its employment grow by 57% from around 7,000 in 2021 to over 11,000 in 2026. ABB India is also investing $75 million to fuel organic expansion, focusing on Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
