Ex-IAS Officer Subhas Chandra Lal Das Takes Charge As DERC Chairman

Retired IAS officer Subhas Chandra Lal Das has assumed charge as the new chairman of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC). Delhi Power Minister Ashish Sood administered the oath of office to Das, a 1992-batch AGMUT cadre officer who previously served as secretary of the MSME ministry. The DERC regulates Delhi's electricity sector, including tariffs and distribution. The post had been vacant since July 2025, and Das's appointment is expected to strengthen the regulator's functioning and focus on consumer interests.

रिटायर्ड IAS अधिकारी सुभाष चंद्र लाल दास ने दिल्ली इलेक्ट्रिसिटी रेगुलेटरी कमीशन (DERC) के नए चेयरमैन के तौर पर अपना पदभार संभाल लिया है। दिल्ली के बिजली मंत्री आशीष सूद ने दास को पद की शपथ दिलाई, जो 1992 बैच के AGMUT कैडर के अधिकारी हैं और पहले MSME मंत्रालय में सचिव के पद पर रह चुके हैं। DERC दिल्ली के बिजली क्षेत्र को रेगुलेट करता है, जिसमें टैरिफ और वितरण शामिल हैं। यह पद जुलाई 2025 से खाली था, और दास की नियुक्ति से रेगुलेटर के कामकाज को मजबूती मिलने और उपभोक्ता हितों पर ध्यान केंद्रित होने की उम्मीद है।
