Jantar Mantar in New Delhi has been denotified as a protest venue by the Delhi Police. This decision follows recommendations from a Ministry of Home Affairs committee. Three alternative sites have been designated for demonstrations: Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground, and CBD Ground in East Delhi. Originally built as an astronomical observatory in 1724 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jantar Mantar evolved into a prominent protest site due to its proximity to Parliament. The site was previously used for various major agitations before becoming synonymous with public demonstrations.
