India is developing the next-generation BrahMos NG cruise missile, aiming for a significantly faster speed of Mach 3.5 (approximately 4300 kmph) and a range exceeding 300 kilometers. This new variant will be considerably smaller and lighter than the current BrahMos, weighing around 1.29 tons compared to the existing 2.9-3 tons. The lighter design aims to make the missile compatible with a wider range of fighter jets, including the indigenous Tejas.

भारत अगली पीढ़ी की ब्रह्मोस NG क्रूज मिसाइल विकसित कर रहा है, जिसका लक्ष्य Mach 3.5 (लगभग 4300 kmph) की काफ़ी तेज़ रफ़्तार और 300 किलोमीटर से ज़्यादा की रेंज हासिल करना है। यह नया वैरिएंट मौजूदा ब्रह्मोस के 2.9-3 टन वज़न की तुलना में लगभग 1.29 टन वज़न के साथ काफ़ी छोटा और हल्का होगा। हल्के डिज़ाइन का मकसद मिसाइल को स्वदेशी तेजस सहित ज़्यादा लड़ाकू विमानों के साथ संगत बनाना है।
