Google has significantly expanded its Android Earthquake Alerts System, now covering over 200 countries and regions, up from 98. The system, launched in 2021, has delivered more than one billion alerts and is described as the world's largest mobile-based earthquake detection network. CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted its effectiveness, noting it alerted millions in Venezuela before shaking began. New features include maps showing shaking radius, magnitude, and recommended actions, with alerts categorized as 'Be Aware,' 'Be Ready,' or 'Take Action' based on intensity.
