Iran's Revolutionary Guards and army reported that five oil tankers and a tugboat caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz. The incidents occurred after the vessels allegedly struck naval mines. One tanker was attempting to pass through an "illegal passageway" south of the strait, while others were exiting the eastern part. A tugboat that approached to extinguish a fire also caught fire. The Iranian army stated three additional tankers were hit by mines.
