Hackers launched a massive cyberattack across France, targeting connected refrigeration systems in major supermarkets and raising temperatures to 50°C overnight. This caused fires and spoiled hundreds of tons of frozen food, forcing immediate disposal due to health risks. The Paris prosecutor's office has classified the incident as a large-scale cyberattack. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has directed the national cybersecurity agency to investigate the vulnerabilities exploited in outdated software of refrigeration controllers.
