Congress Replaces Jat Sikh Leader With Another In Punjab

NDTV · politics

The Congress party has reportedly replaced one Jat Sikh leader with another as its Punjab unit chief. This move comes after Vijay Inder Singla, a Hindu face, was considered the frontrunner for the position. The appointment of Pargat Singh is seen as an attempt to address the complex political arithmetic within the state. His inclusion is expected to provide some answers regarding the effectiveness of such community-based calculations in Punjab's electoral landscape.
