Intel Slashes VP Ranks Amid Cultural Overhaul

Intel has drastically reduced its vice president ranks from approximately 450 to 200, alongside halving management layers to six. CFO David Zinsner described the previous structure as a decade-long cultural problem that led to decision-making delays and product development inefficiencies. He noted that too many individuals held veto power, causing products to undergo multiple development cycles instead of being finalized on the first attempt. This overhaul aims to improve execution speed and product delivery timelines for the chipmaker.
