Gurugram Pollution: RWAs Told to Restrict Non-Compliant Diesel Generator Sets

The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has directed Gurugram's resident welfare associations and facility management agencies to restrict the use of non-compliant diesel generator sets. Officials emphasized that these generators cannot be used for routine power needs and must be reserved for emergency services. Operators are instructed to retrofit generators with approved emission control devices or convert them to dual-fuel systems. The board also stressed the importance of continuous operation of sewage treatment plants and proper waste management to combat rising pollution levels in the region.

हरियाणा राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड (HSPCB) ने गुरुग्राम के रेजिडेंट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशनों और सुविधा प्रबंधन एजेंसियों को गैर-अनुपालन वाले डीजल जनरेटर सेट के उपयोग को प्रतिबंधित करने का निर्देश दिया है। अधिकारियों ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि इन जनरेटरों का उपयोग नियमित बिजली की जरूरतों के लिए नहीं किया जा सकता है और इन्हें आपातकालीन सेवाओं के लिए आरक्षित रखा जाना चाहिए। ऑपरेटरों को जनरेटरों में स्वीकृत उत्सर्जन नियंत्रण उपकरण लगाने या उन्हें डुअल-फ्यूल सिस्टम में बदलने का निर्देश दिया गया है। बोर्ड ने क्षेत्र में बढ़ते प्रदूषण के स्तर से निपटने के लिए सीवेज उपचार संयंत्रों के निरंतर संचालन और उचित अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन के महत्व पर भी जोर दिया।
