Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has demanded that electoral rolls be linked with Aadhaar cards and biometric verification be made mandatory at all polling booths. He alleges that the BJP is engaging in "vote fixing" through electoral roll revisions in Uttar Pradesh, which he claims weakens democracy. Yadav cited examples of multiple entries for single individuals, including one person allegedly appearing 420 times. He warned that if Aadhaar linking is not implemented, it raises questions about the Election Commission's intentions and the BJP's commitment to fair elections.

समाजवादी पार्टी के मुखिया अखिलेश यादव ने कहा है कि वोटर लिस्ट को आधार कार्ड से जोड़ा जाए और सभी पोलिंग बूथों पर बायोमेट्रिक वेरिफिकेशन ज़रूरी हो। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी उत्तर प्रदेश में वोटर लिस्ट में बदलाव करके 'वोट फिक्सिंग' कर रही है, जिससे लोकतंत्र कमज़ोर होता है। यादव ने ऐसे उदाहरण दिए कि एक ही व्यक्ति का नाम कई बार दर्ज है, यहाँ तक कि एक व्यक्ति का नाम कथित तौर पर 420 बार आया है। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि अगर आधार लिंकिंग लागू नहीं हुई, तो चुनाव आयोग की मंशा और निष्पक्ष चुनाव के प्रति बीजेपी की प्रतिबद्धता पर सवाल उठेंगे।
