A group of former bureaucrats has demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In an open letter, the Constitutional Conduct Group stated that the Election Commission's functioning has become "imperious, autocratic and dictatorial" under Kumar. They cited alleged irregularities in the special intensive revision of electoral rolls as a "serious infringement" of constitutional functioning.
