Indian Stock Market Sees Rs 30 Lakh Crore Wipeout In Less Than 6 Weeks

Indian stock markets, including the Sensex and Nifty, have experienced a significant sell-off, losing Rs 30 lakh crore in market capitalization since early September. This decline, reaching fresh 52-week lows, is attributed to rising oil prices, bond yields, and the RBI's hawkish stance. Analysts suggest a rebound requires a reversal of macro headwinds, including cooling crude oil prices, stable bond yields, and a stabilizing rupee. Foreign institutional investors have been net sellers, intensifying the selloff in recent weeks.
