Yemeni Govt Forces Launch Air Strikes on Houthi Positions in Southwest

Yemen's internationally recognized government forces have conducted a series of air strikes targeting Houthi positions and military equipment in the country's southwest. Nine strikes were reported in Taiz governorate, with fighting ongoing in the al-Shaqab area. The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedom stated that Houthis killed at least five civilians, including a child, and injured 17 others in Taiz within 24 hours, also damaging homes. The conflict, which began in 2014, has seen a UN-backed truce falter amid recent Houthi advances.
