India Cannot Give Deadline For Sheikh Hasina's Extradition: Envoy

India cannot provide a deadline for the extradition of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as her request is currently under legal examination, stated Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi. Hasina fled to India in August 2024 after her government collapsed amid widespread protests. Trivedi clarified that Hasina arrived in India via a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft, not an Indian military one, and India had a duty as a neighbour to accept her.
