US President Donald Trump described Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar as a hero following a mid-air altercation on a flydubai flight. Trump stated that the co-pilot, possibly a terrorist or 'whack-job,' stabbed Captain Machchhar and attempted to crash the plane. He learned from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that a plumber on board helped regain control. The flight, en route to Tel Aviv, made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after the incident. Captain Machchhar, despite severe injuries, managed to unlock the cockpit door.
