RBI's Consolidated Account Statement to Include Bank Deposits

Times of India - Business · business

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is enhancing its Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) to include information on bank deposit accounts alongside existing details of securities. This move aims to improve customer convenience by providing a single view of financial holdings. SEBI-regulated depositories will integrate deposit account information through NBFC-Account Aggregators. This initiative, expected to be operational by December 31, 2026, will allow demat account holders to track their bank deposits, FDs, and other investments in one place. Experts believe this will simplify financial tracking and reconciliation for investors.
