Minor Bonded Labour Survivor Receives Rs 10 Lakh Compensation

A minor bonded labour survivor from Kishanganj, who lost his arm while working at a Haryana dairy farm, has received Rs 10 lakh compensation from the Haryana government. The compensation was disbursed on humanitarian grounds following a recommendation by the Haryana State Human Rights Commission for his rehabilitation. The survivor has also been fitted with a prosthetic arm. However, his bonded labour release certificate is still pending, which is crucial for accessing further rehabilitation benefits. The National Human Rights Commission had also taken suo motu cognizance of the exploitation.
