Yemen Conflict Displaces 71,000 Children, Worsens Malnutrition

Fighting in Yemen has forcibly displaced approximately 71,000 children in the past three weeks, according to UNICEF. The conflict is severely disrupting access to healthcare, leading to a significant rise in acute malnutrition among children. UNICEF's country representative Akhil Iyer reported that over a quarter of nearly 2,900 screened children were acutely malnourished, with 200 in severe condition. This situation is projected to affect 2.2 million children under five this year, highlighting a deepening humanitarian crisis.

यमन में लड़ाई की वजह से पिछले तीन हफ्तों में करीब 71,000 बच्चे बेघर हो गए हैं। UNICEF के मुताबिक, इस संघर्ष से स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं पर बुरा असर पड़ रहा है, जिससे बच्चों में गंभीर कुपोषण बढ़ गया है। UNICEF के प्रतिनिधि अखिल अय्यर ने बताया कि करीब 2,900 बच्चों में से चौथाई से ज़्यादा बच्चे गंभीर रूप से कुपोषित पाए गए, जिनमें 200 की हालत बहुत नाज़ुक है। इस साल 5 साल से कम उम्र के 22 लाख बच्चों पर इसका असर पड़ने का अनुमान है।
