Congress MLAs protested outside the Punjab Assembly, burning an effigy of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and demanding his resignation. The protest followed the murder of anti-drug crusader Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa. Opposition leader Partap Singh Bajwa stated that law and order has completely collapsed in Punjab, making citizens unsafe. He criticized the Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio, for failing to maintain security. The Bharatiya Janata Party also criticized the state government for its accountability and lack of discussion on pressing issues during the assembly session.

कांग्रेस विधायकों ने पंजाब विधानसभा के बाहर मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान का पुतला फूंका और उनके इस्तीफे की मांग की। यह विरोध मनसा में नशीली दवाओं के खिलाफ लड़ने वाले परविंदर सिंह झोटा की हत्या के बाद हुआ। विपक्ष के नेता प्रताप सिंह बाजवा ने कहा कि पंजाब में कानून-व्यवस्था पूरी तरह चरमरा गई है, जिससे नागरिक असुरक्षित हैं। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री की आलोचना की, जिनके पास गृह मंत्रालय भी है, सुरक्षा बनाए रखने में विफल रहने के लिए। भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने भी विधानसभा सत्र के दौरान जवाबदेही और महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर चर्चा की कमी के लिए राज्य सरकार की आलोचना की।
