This figure is already the second-highest recorded since 2000 and represents a 29% excess over normal rainfall. Eleven weather systems, including low-pressure areas and depressions, contributed to the downpour. Heavy rains have disrupted normal life, causing road closures, halted train services, and inundating several districts, with rivers like Baitarani flowing above danger levels.
