Panama experienced two strong earthquakes, with the first registering a magnitude of 7.7 and the second a 6.6. The powerful tremors caused widespread panic and led to the collapse of several buildings. The initial quake's epicenter was located about 10 kilometers southwest of Pitalosa Arriba in the Herrera province, at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. The seismic activity was felt as far as Panama City and neighboring Colombia, prompting authorities to urge residents to move to safer locations.
