Odisha government has cancelled the allotment of 28.8 acres of land to Vedanta Limited in Jharsuguda district due to prolonged non-utilisation. The land, allotted in 2013, was found vacant with only a boundary wall constructed, failing to meet lease deed conditions. Vedanta had argued the land was for future expansion and ancillary facilities. However, verification confirmed no substantial construction or industrial activity. The company has been directed to hand over vacant possession of the land immediately.
