Ex-BJD MP's Properties Searched Over Allegations of Funding Maoists

EOW has searched properties linked to former BJD Rajya Sabha MP Nekkanti Bhaskar Rao, aged 72, on charges of funding Maoists between 2003 and 2005. The allegations suggest funds were diverted from a truck owners' association, with an FIR claiming nearly Rs 60 crore was misappropriated. Rao allegedly controlled the association without legal mandate and extorted money from truck owners. The EOW is investigating financial irregularities, extortion, and alleged Maoist links. Searches were conducted at nine locations in Bhubaneswar and Rayagada district.

EOW ने पूर्व बीजीडी राज्यसभा सांसद नेक्कंती भास्कर राव, 72 साल के, की संपत्तियों की तलाशी ली है। उन पर 2003 से 2005 के बीच माओवादियों को फंडिंग करने का आरोप है। आरोपों के मुताबिक, एक ट्रक मालिकों के संघ से फंड का दुरुपयोग किया गया था। एफआईआर में करीब 60 करोड़ रुपये के गबन का दावा किया गया है। राव पर कथित तौर पर बिना कानूनी अधिकार के संघ को नियंत्रित करने और ट्रक मालिकों से पैसे वसूलने का आरोप है। EOW वित्तीय अनियमितताओं, जबरन वसूली और कथित माओवादी संपर्कों की जांच कर रहा है। भुवनेश्वर और रायगडा जिले में नौ जगहों पर तलाशी ली गई।
