RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav has been granted bail by a Siwan court in a Model Code of Conduct violation case from the 2011 Bihar assembly elections. The case, lodged in October 2011, pertains to an alleged election meeting address after campaigning hours. Yadav's counsel cited his ill health and submitted medical records, including kidney transplant documents, as reasons for his inability to appear. The court also considered that the other accused, Parameshwar Singh, had passed away, leaving Yadav as the sole defendant.

आरजेडी अध्यक्ष लालू प्रसाद यादव को सिवान की एक अदालत ने 2011 के बिहार विधानसभा चुनावों के मॉडल कोड ऑफ कंडक्ट उल्लंघन मामले में ज़मानत दे दी है। यह मामला अक्टूबर 2011 में दर्ज किया गया था और यह प्रचार के घंटों के बाद एक कथित चुनाव सभा को संबोधित करने से संबंधित है। यादव के वकील ने उनके खराब स्वास्थ्य का हवाला दिया और पेश होने में असमर्थता के कारणों के रूप में किडनी प्रत्यारोपण के दस्तावेज़ सहित मेडिकल रिकॉर्ड जमा किए। अदालत ने यह भी माना कि अन्य आरोपी, परमेंश्वर सिंह, का निधन हो गया था, जिससे यादव एकमात्र प्रतिवादी बचे थे।
