Court Allows Father To Evict Son, Daughter-in-Law

A civil court in Ahmedabad has granted a father the right to evict his son and daughter-in-law from his self-acquired property after a 13-year legal battle. The court has given the couple 90 days to vacate the house. The father had filed the lawsuit in 2013, stating he purchased the property in the 1980s and his son and daughter-in-law moved in later. The court ruled that a daughter-in-law cannot claim rights to her in-laws' self-owned property under domestic violence laws.

अहमदाबाद की एक सिविल कोर्ट ने एक पिता को अपने बेटे और बहू को उसकी खुद की खरीदी संपत्ति से बेदखल करने का अधिकार दे दिया है। यह कानूनी लड़ाई 13 साल से चल रही थी। कोर्ट ने इस जोड़े को घर खाली करने के लिए 90 दिन का समय दिया है। पिता ने 2013 में यह मुकदमा दायर किया था। उन्होंने कहा था कि उन्होंने यह संपत्ति 1980 के दशक में खरीदी थी और उनका बेटा और बहू बाद में वहां रहने आए थे। कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया कि घरेलू हिंसा कानूनों के तहत बहू अपने ससुराल वालों की खुद की संपत्ति पर अधिकार का दावा नहीं कर सकती है।
