The National Green Tribunal has directed the Madhya Pradesh government to establish guidelines or an SOP for mobile tower installations if they are not already in place. The tribunal emphasized that decisions on tower installation policy, including land-use permissions, should be based on scientific research and data. It also mandated strict adherence to Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines for granting clearances. The Telecom Enforcement Resource and Monitoring Cell will regularly test tower radiation to ensure compliance with prescribed parameters.
