Absence from Draft Voter Roll Doesn't Mean Deletion: Election Commission
Hindustan Times · politics
The Election Commission of India informed the Bombay High Court in Goa that a voter's name not appearing on a draft electoral roll during a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) does not signify deletion. Unlike a Special Summary Revision (SSR) which updates existing rolls, an SIR involves preparing the roll afresh from the ground up. Therefore, individuals missing from the draft must file Form 6 during the claims and objections period to be included in the final roll.
