Historic Virginia House Moved Piece by Piece

A 1762 Virginia farmhouse, originally built in Sussex County, has been meticulously dismantled and relocated to Alexandria. The historic home, known as Carlby, spent 184 years in its original location before being moved timber by timber. It now sits on a 2.18-acre waterfront property along the Potomac River. The house, which has remained with the same family for three generations, is listed for $3.799 million and retains many original 18th-century features.
