Mysuru Administration to Intensify Inspections Against Child Labour

The Hindu · india

Mysuru district administration has ordered officials to ramp up inspections and take legal action against employers of child labour. Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya directed immediate action to stop children selling items at the Dasara Exhibition Ground and warned against employing those under 18 in stalls and shops. With Deepavali approaching, strict vigilance is also mandated for firecracker units and sales outlets. Inspectors must conduct at least 15 inspections monthly, and taluk-level committees will hold regular meetings to eradicate child labour.
