The Hindu · india
Daily coal supplies to India's power sector have increased by 36% from September lows, averaging 9% higher in October compared to the previous month. Rail-based supplies have also improved, with an average of 465 rakes dispatched daily in October, supplementing road-based deliveries. Coal India offered power plants additional coal beyond contracted quantities to bolster fuel availability. The Coal Ministry expects this sustained loading to stabilize supplies and enable stock rebuilding, reducing the number of plants in critical condition.
