United Nations experts have expressed alarm over the excessive use of force by French authorities during recent nationwide student protests. They stated that the scale of arrests, particularly of minors, appears disproportionate and deters demonstrators from exercising their freedoms. While the government deployed significant security forces, the experts noted that a security-focused response has sidelined the root causes of the protests. Concerns were raised about serious injuries sustained by underage demonstrators, deeming them unacceptable and unjustifiable.
