Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital Campaign Simulates Vision Loss Ahead of World Sight Day

Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital and Institute of Optometry organised an interactive eye health awareness campaign called 'See What They See' on Wednesday, a day before World Sight Day. Undergraduate optometry students designed simulation glasses mimicking conditions like cataract, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. Over 1,400 individuals experienced vision impairment through these glasses at four locations. Dean Karpagam stressed the importance of annual eye examinations for early detection of silent eye diseases to prevent avoidable blindness and maintain quality of life.

डॉ. अग्रवाल आई हॉस्पिटल और इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ ऑप्टोमेट्री ने वर्ल्ड साइट डे से एक दिन पहले बुधवार को 'सी व्हाट दे सी' नामक एक इंटरैक्टिव नेत्र स्वास्थ्य जागरूकता अभियान आयोजित किया। स्नातक ऑप्टोमेट्री छात्रों ने मोतियाबिंद, ग्लूकोमा और डायबिटिक रेटिनोपैथी जैसी स्थितियों की नकल करने वाले सिमुलेशन चश्मे डिजाइन किए। चार स्थानों पर 1,400 से अधिक लोगों ने इन चश्मों के माध्यम से दृष्टि हानि का अनुभव किया। डीन कर्गम ने टालने योग्य अंधापन को रोकने और जीवन की गुणवत्ता बनाए रखने के लिए मूक नेत्र रोगों का शीघ्र पता लगाने के लिए वार्षिक नेत्र परीक्षाओं के महत्व पर जोर दिया।
