Turkiye's intelligence agency has apprehended a key suspect in the deadly 2013 twin bombing in Reyhanli, near the Syrian border. The suspect, identified as Omar al-Khatib, a Syrian national, was reportedly captured while attempting to flee to Europe by sea. The 2013 attack killed 53 people and was the deadliest incident in Turkiye linked to the Syrian civil war. Al-Khatib is believed to have coordinated the attack with Syrian intelligence officials loyal to then-President Bashar al-Assad.
