Bihar: Two Independent MLCs Face Disqualification After Joining BJP

Two newly elected independent members of the Bihar Legislative Council have announced their decision to join the BJP. Opposition parties, including the RJD, have demanded their disqualification under the anti-defection law. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP of mocking the constitution and stated that independent members joining a political party after election are liable for disqualification. An RJD delegation plans to meet the Legislative Council Chairman and approach the Election Commission regarding the matter.

बिहार विधान परिषद के दो नवनिर्वाचित निर्दलीय सदस्यों ने भाजपा में शामिल होने का ऐलान किया है। आरजेडी सहित विपक्षी दलों ने दल-बदल कानून के तहत उनकी सदस्यता रद्द करने की मांग की है। आरजेडी नेता तेजस्वी यादव ने भाजपा पर संविधान का मखौल उड़ाने का आरोप लगाया और कहा कि चुनाव के बाद निर्दलीय सदस्यों का किसी राजनीतिक दल में शामिल होना सदस्यता रद्द होने के दायरे में आता है। आरजेडी का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल इस मामले को लेकर विधान परिषद के सभापति से मिलने और चुनाव आयोग जाने की योजना बना रहा है।
