Cruise Ship Offering Permanent Stays Abandons Passengers in Cambodia

Times of India - India · india

A Florida-based cruise ship company, Villa Vie Residences, has suspended operations for its vessel, the Villa Vie Odyssey, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded in Cambodia. The company cited soaring fuel costs, exacerbated by the Iran war, as the reason for the shutdown. Passengers had paid tens of thousands of dollars for long-term, even permanent, stays on the ship, which had been sailing for over two years. Many were forced to disembark with limited belongings, facing uncertainty about their investments and future arrangements.
