IBM's Europe and Africa vice-president Alessandro Curioni has warned that fewer than 10 percent of global organisations are prepared for the risks of quantum computing. This high-speed technology could crack current security encryptions, enabling large-scale cyberattacks on critical infrastructure like the internet, blockchains, and financial institutions. While quantum computers offer immense benefits for complex problem-solving, they also pose a significant threat to data security.
