She disappeared on September 10 and was located on October 14, just before winter conditions would have halted the search. Luna lost approximately 10 pounds, nearly half her original weight, and required veterinary treatment. Her survival is attributed to her past as a street dog, which instilled strong survival instincts that helped her avoid capture.
