Autorickshaw and tourist taxi associations in Madikeri have halted their services for 12 hours to protest against the operation of rental bikes and ride-hailing aggregator services. They allege these services are causing financial hardship and distress to drivers and operators who rely on their earnings for livelihood. The associations submitted a memorandum to the Kodagu district administration, requesting the cancellation of permissions for these bike rental services. Passengers faced difficulties reaching their destinations, especially on a busy market day, due to the service disruption.
