Pune Airport Cargo Traffic Soars 43.9% in First Eight Months of 2026

Pune Airport experienced a significant 43.9% surge in cargo traffic during the first eight months of 2026, handling 45,050.7 metric tonnes compared to 31,303.7 metric tonnes in the same period last year. Both domestic and international cargo volumes saw substantial increases, with international cargo more than tripling its previous year's volume. This growth is attributed to expanding industrial and commercial activities in Pune and its surrounding regions, particularly in sectors like automobile, manufacturing, and IT. Union minister Murlidhar Mohol stated this rise reflects the region's growing economic and industrial strength.

साल 2026 के पहले आठ महीनों में पुणे एयरपोर्ट पर कार्गो ट्रैफिक में 43.9% की ज़बरदस्त बढ़ोतरी देखी गई। इस दौरान 45,050.7 मीट्रिक टन कार्गो संभाला गया, जबकि पिछले साल इसी अवधि में यह 31,303.7 मीट्रिक टन था। डोमेस्टिक और इंटरनेशनल, दोनों तरह के कार्गो वॉल्यूम में काफी वृद्धि हुई है, जिसमें इंटरनेशनल कार्गो की मात्रा पिछले साल के मुकाबले तीन गुना से भी ज़्यादा हो गई है। इस ग्रोथ का श्रेय पुणे और आसपास के इलाकों में बढ़ती इंडस्ट्रियल और कमर्शियल एक्टिविटी को दिया जा रहा है, खासकर ऑटोमोबाइल, मैन्युफैक्चरिंग और IT जैसे सेक्टर्स में। केंद्रीय मंत्री मुरलीधर मोहोल ने कहा कि यह बढ़ोतरी इस क्षेत्र की बढ़ती आर्थिक और औद्योगिक ताकत को दर्शाती है।
