Govt Signals Alternative Protest Site for CJP At Jantar Mantar, Supreme Court Hearing

The Indian government has indicated to the Supreme Court that the CJP might be permitted to protest at a location other than Jantar Mantar. During a hearing, the Solicitor General stated that Jantar Mantar's proximity to Parliament and residential areas of MPs makes it unsuitable for prolonged demonstrations. The court emphasized the right to protest peacefully while ensuring safety and access to basic amenities like toilets and medical aid.

भारत सरकार ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट को संकेत दिया है कि CJP को जंतर मंतर के अलावा किसी दूसरी जगह विरोध करने की अनुमति मिल सकती है। सुनवाई के दौरान सॉलिसिटर जनरल ने कहा कि जंतर मंतर संसद और सांसदों के रिहायशी इलाकों के करीब होने के कारण लंबे समय तक प्रदर्शन के लिए ठीक नहीं है। कोर्ट ने शांतिपूर्ण विरोध के अधिकार पर जोर दिया, साथ ही शौचालय और चिकित्सा सहायता जैसी बुनियादी सुविधाओं की सुरक्षा और उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करने की बात कही।
