AI Watchdog Proposed To Prevent Global Catastrophe

Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis has proposed a US-led AI watchdog to test advanced models before release. This body, modelled on FINRA, would coordinate industry-wide slowdowns if risks escalate. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and OpenAI's Sam Altman backed the idea, warning against a single AI model causing global disruption.
