Europe Not Building Chip Plants, ASML Sells Nothing

ASML, a leading chip equipment manufacturer, is currently selling no machines in Europe because the continent is not investing in new chip plants. Executive Frank Heemskerk stated that while Europe is lagging, the US, China, and India are actively trying to attract ASML's expansion. This situation arises as the EU's Chips Act, aimed at doubling Europe's global chip market share by 2030, has struggled to stimulate the construction of new semiconductor factories. ASML's advanced lithography machines are crucial for producing the latest generation of chips.
