Hindustan Times · politics
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of authoritarianism, alleging the government is suppressing dissent and disenfranchising voters. He cited the de-notification of Jantar Mantar as a protest site and the detention of thousands during recent demonstrations. Kharge also criticized Home Minister Amit Shah's characterization of 133 million people excluded from electoral rolls as 'infiltrators'. He claimed that those questioning the government face imprisonment, while protesters experience brutality, and vowed that people will not bow to oppressive policies.
