A 77-year-old man from Samrala, Ludhiana, was defrauded of ₹5 lakh by a man and his female accomplice who posed as travel agents. The accused promised to book flight tickets but instead transferred the money to their accounts. The police arrested the woman, identified as Madhvi Maravi, from Madhya Pradesh. She revealed that the main accused, Naveen, had promised her a commission. The duo had used the money for a vacation in Shimla. The victim had obtained the accused's contact details from online ticket booking websites.
