Neeru Dhanda made history on Tuesday by securing India's first individual gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in the women's trap event. The 26-year-old shooter from Haryana achieved a score of 28, setting a new Asian record and surpassing the previous mark. This victory marks a significant milestone as no Indian woman had previously won a medal in this event at the Asian Games. Dhanda's performance also contributed to India's overall shooting tally of 14 medals at the Games.
